Dr Dehaeck qualified in 1983 in Gynaecology and Obstetrics from the University of Cape Town and is a registered Gynaecologic Oncologist with the South African College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Dr Dehaeck is a leading gynaecologist specialising in Vulvo-vaginal diseases in Cape Town and has been in private practise at Vincent Pallotti Hospital in Pinelands, Cape Town for 25 years, where she specialises in Gynaecology, Gynae Oncology, Vulvo-vaginal disease and Paediatric Gynaecology. She sees a wide spectrum of patients ranging from children to senior citizens to treat Vulvo-vaginal problems and disease. De Dehaeck also founded the Vulvo-vaginal Clinic at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town in 1998.
Dr Dehaeck consults part-time to the Gynae Oncology unit and Vulval and Colposcopy clinic at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town; she is a part-time consultant to the Paediatric Gynaecology clinic at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital; and she is a Senior Consultant and Lecturer for under- and post-graduate medical students.
She is a member of the South African Society of Gynae and Obstetrics (SASOG); the South African Society of Gynae Oncology (SASGO); the South African Medical and Dental Council (SAMDC); and the International Gynae Cancer Society (IGCS). She was also a long-standing member of the International Society for the Study of Vulvo-vaginal Disease (ISSVD).

Vulvo-vaginal Diseases & Problems
De Dehaeck founded the Vulvo-vaginal Clinic at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town in 1998. This is a state-funded clinic dedicated to patients who cannot afford private fees. She is private practise at Vincent Pallotti Hospital in Pinelands, Cape Town, where she sees her private patients with vulvo-vaginal problems.
Paediatric gynaecology and gynaecological congenital abnormalities
Dr Dehaeck treats girls 13 years and younger for gynaecological and gynaecological congenital abnormalities. She established and is still involved with the Paediatric Gynaecology Clinic at Cape Town’s Red Cross Children’s Hospital.
Vaginal reconstruction (non-cosmetic)
In collaboration with plastic surgeons, Dr Dehaeck undertakes non-cosmetic vaginal reconstruction surgery, which is mainly associated with vulvo-vaginal cancer or vulvo-vaginal congenital abnormalities.
Research Interests
De Dehaeck conducts clinical research in vulvo-vaginal disease with special emphasis on Lichen Sclerosus.
